October’s inform workshop, October 18 at 10am, is an introduction to Qigong/T’ai Chi Ch’uan Workshop by Master Marilyn Cooper. During this one hour session, you’ll get to learn about these ancient Chinese practices that are designed to reduce stress and integrate breathing with movement.

T’ai Chi Ch’uan combines Qigong and Kung Fu. Movements are both relaxing and useful for self-defense. We will explore the first few movements of the world’s most popular form, the Mainland 24.

Light, non-invasive partnered exercises known as push hands will be explored at the end of the workshop.

Join us Saturday, October 18 from 10 to 11am!. Free for In Forma members and just $15 for guests.

More about Marilyn Cooper

Master Cooper is the subject of numerous feature newspaper articles and TV interviews. She’s been published in Inside Kung Fu, Taijiquan Journal, Kung Fu/T’ai Chi magazines as well as other news media.

Marilyn opened her first Kung Fu studio in New York City in 1980 and has been teaching ever since. She founded a national non-profit institute, Pushing for Peace, whose mission is to promote a T’ai Chi program which helps prevent youth violence and promote mental and physical health.
