In Forma History

In Forma opened its doors to the public on January 3, 1995 with three main objectives:

1. To make fitness available to a wide population range by offering a wide variety of fitness services

2. To  promote a new vision of  health and fitness which honors the interaction between body and mind as a fundamental principle for the attainment of a healthy and balance lifestyle

3. To create a friendly, supportive, inspiring and personable fitness environment focused on providing education and support for health and fitness

With these principles in mind, and its  emphasis on mind-body integration, In Forma quickly made its presence known in the community by offering a new, progressive and personalized range of health and fitness services to members of all ages.

The Present

Today, with a renewed commitment to propagation of an integral and holistic approach to health and fitness and with more than 24 years of operation under its founding guiding principles, In Forma continues strongly on its mission.

Thanks to the addition of a new state of the art facility and the remodeling of its original facility in 2008, In Forma has expanded its services to include a spacious and soothing Fitness Studio and an expansion of all of its cardio and strength line of equipment. The Studio is widely utilized for group classes and workshops including all group-fitness classes, Yoga, Pilates (Mat & Reformer), Barre Method, and more.

This recent expansion is in addition to the already well established repertoire of Cardio and Fitness classes with widely experienced and knowledgeable instructors.

Other great services include outstanding Personal Training with highly reputable, experienced and recognized experts in the field;  a state of the art strength and cardio training facility; a very supportive and successful Parkinson’s Training Group and a variety of educational workshops.

In Forma’s mission is guided by a vision based on the following principles:

  1. Developing and maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle is essential to the realization of a wholesome, fulfilling and harmonious life, for a healthy and harmonious life balance is essential to the full realization, expression and experience of one’s own full potential.
  2. In creating and maintaining a balanced and harmonious lifestyle it’s important to recognize and experience the undeniable  interconnection between body and mind and acknowledge the spiritual dimension of life as expressions of our multidimensionality.
  3. Integrating a wide variety of approaches to health and fitness can only but benefit the development of a balanced lifestyle for in their own right, each unique and different health, fitness and spiritual practice contains valuable and beneficial characteristic for the support of a wholesome, balanced and harmonious life.

What Is “Integral Fitness”?

The term “Integral Fitness” is used to describe the integration of a broad-spectrum of approaches to health and fitness used at In Forma to help promote well rounded,  balanced and compatible health and fitness practices.

Integral fitness stands to define a new, integral view of health and fitness. This approach blends contemporary findings in Western exercise science with the ancient wisdom of Eastern health and spiritual practices.  From contemporary Western exercise science it draws the latest model of fitness training and programs for the whole body. Form the ancient wisdom of the East it draws essential practices for mind-body integration, inner peace, balance and wholeness.

These two different and compatible approaches to wellness are synthesized and integrated to create and offer a series programs designed to promote an holistic approach to health and fitness for body, mind and spirit in support of  a balanced and harmonious lifestyle.
